Takes Another Victory Washington Midget Racing Association Spanaway, Washington, June 30, 2001, by Deanna Owens Rick Kraft # 3 holds onto First the full 35 lap Main Event from the Pole position, this is his second win of the season, both coming at Spanaway Speedway. Second place finisher Rory Price # 99, at times challenged for the lead with John Starks # 55 in third, moving up from his row inside starting position. Brad Curtis # 12 finished in the fourth position and Mel Kemper Jr, 11 finished in fifth to round out the top five spots. Yellow was drawn on lap two caused by # 24 Dave Hoene's fuel line, that came off and caused fuel to spray down the side of the car, which ended Hoene's night. #56 Tim Bliss also had troubles on lap two with fuel and oil mixing, and also ended his night. The Red flag was drawn on lap 28 when # 29 of Duane Westby and # 75 of Tommy Erdmann made contact interring turn three, causing Erdmann to flip over and retiring him for the evening. On lap 30 # 29 Westby went across the in field causing damage to his car and sending him to the pits for the evening. Kraft # 3 continued to pull away from the pack while # 99 Price and # 55 Starks battled for the second position, behind them was # 12 Curtis in hot pursuit of the leaders. # 11 Kemper finished fifth, # 4 Nick Seidelman finishing the six spot from his 11th place starting position. # 7 Bobby Bird taking the 7th spot, also moving up from deep in the pack, from his 15th place starting position and # 48 Glen Guiles rounding out the top 8 spots.
